Coinbase’s “Visa Debit Card” now works with Google Pay: Users can spend crypto in the safest way

The cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced on Monday, March 17 that android users can now use Coinbase’s visa debit card, which lets people spend crypto assets directly from their Coinbase accounts, with Google Pay.

According to the announcement, Android users will be able to add Coinbase’s Visa debit card directly to their Google Pay wallets.

After the integration of Coinbase and Google Pay, the crypto exchange Coinbase has become the first company that permits users to make mobile payments with crypto.

Google Pay offers a fast and secure way to pay

Coinbase claims in the announcement post that Google pay offers its customers a fast and secure way to pay for everything by using their smartphones or any other devices that are enabled on Google Pay.

With the help of Google Pay, users will be able to spend their digital assets in the safest way. According to the announcement:

Google Pay gives Coinbase Card customers a fast, secure way to pay using their smartphones, smartwatches, and other Google Pay-enabled devices. With Google Pay, Android users can pay for everything from daily travel to end-of-year getaways using their crypto in the safest possible way.

Currently, this latest feature of Coinbase is available in these fourteen countries which are the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. However, Coinbase said in the blog post that the company is working on expanding this latest option into the other European countries as well.

There are only ten digital coins including the leading digital asset Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and some others that are supported on the card currently.

The Coinbase card was launched in April 2019 in the UK. According to the CEO of Coinbase UK Zeeshan Feroz, the mission of the company is “to create a more open financial system”.
